EZI DEBIT
The full story on direct billing
Collecting martial arts training fees can be difficult sometimes and it doesn’t matter whether you run a karate or kung fu or taekwondo school etc. Separating yourself (the instructor) from collecting fees could be the best thing you can do. Get someone else to collect the fees like a student, a friend, a parent will improve your own collection rate. Better still get a professional collection / billing company and they will make you money, yes direct debet systems are the go and are becoming much more widely accepted.
Some people rave about how good their billing company is and don't hear where the real savings are.
When comparing prices you need to look at the whole package just like when you compare loans and banks. Some charge a big set up fee then charge a lower interest rate others charge an administration fee plus this plus that. What ever the formula you know you should be looking at the overall cost for the duration of the loan it is the same with billing companies. Look at the overall package to see if it matches up to your expectations without the sugar coating.
Why use a billing company?
Whether you are a small school or a big one you can benefit from their service. Direct debiting from a person's bank account is becoming more and more accepted in our community especially for the service instructors provide.
It allows the instructor to focus on what they do best, teach martial arts. By separating the instructor from the accounts person the club has an independent party to blame for the persistent pursuit of payments. This gives the club a possible 95% guarantee of payment from each student, now that's something you can bank on. You don't have to chase fees nor give special allowances/discounts for students who decide not to train regularly.
Who pays?
Some instructors aren't too concerned about how much billing companies charge because they say it is not costing them anything, ‘the student pays for it' they say. Isn't the idea to save money irrespective of if the instructor or the student is charged. Surely the student looks at the club's training fees and the billing company's fee as an overall cost for training. Irrespective of who's paying doesn't it make sense to reduce the overall cost of your service, if you can.
How often can you collect fees?
You can do it weekly, fortnightly, monthly or three monthly but the smart operators are doing it fortnightly.
EZI DEBIT is very competitive with fee management in Australia and one that brings many other cost saving services that other companies charge for. The IMA is proud to inform you that EZI DEBIT has all the ticks from us and the industry.
